Jeff:
Real Name: Jeff Hardy
Height: 6'1
Weight: 212 Pounds
From: Cameron, North Carolina
Finishing Move: Swanton Bomb
Career Highlights by WeirdKevin:

Jeff and Matt Hardy started out in the wrestling world by training themselves in their own backyard in Cameron, North Carolina in the spring of 1990. When the two officially entered the WWF, they signed a contract in 1998. Not many know this, but both Jeff and Matt Hardy have competed in the World Wrestling Federation on and off since 1994. Jeff Hardy was around 16 years of age while his older brother Matt was 18 or 19. Jeff lied and said that he was 18, so he could get into the World Wrestling Federation. The two didn't wrestle as a tag team during their early years. Instead, they wrestled as singles wrestlers as "Jobbers to the Stars." Both Jeff and Matt remained as jobbers for a long time to come, and one of them even competed against Rob Van Dan on RAW is WAR during the ECW Invasion in 1997. It is said that it was Jeff Hardy in magazines and such, but it was actually Matt who competed against the ECW talent, Rob Van Dam.
The Hardy Boyz, as a tag team finally got their big break in late 1998. There were many rumors going around that they wanted to join Degeneration X. There were even articles in magazines with pictures of Jeff and Matt giving the "DX" signal with their arms. The duo never joined Degeneration X, but they did make it to TV in some matches against guys like Too Much, the Legion of Doom, The Big Bossman and Ken Shamrock as well as many others. Jeff and Matt got a huge win over the Legion of Doom, but it wasn't the original Legion of Doom, Hawk and Animal. It was Animal and Droz, and they got into a shoving contest during that match and the Hardy Boyz were able to pull off a huge upset. The Hardy Boyz got their big break when they went under the wing of Dok Hendrix, also known as Michael Hayes. On the very first edition of WWF Smackdown! in April of 1999, Dok Hendrix was doing an interview with the Brood, who were Edge, Christian and Gangrel. During that interview, Dok acted as if the Brood were just a gimmick, and they weren't really living the life of vampires and what not.

the Brood wanted to prove Dok otherwise and they did so by giving Dok Hendrix a blood bath in the middle of the ring. Not too long after that, Edge and Christian were taking on Prince Albert and Darren Drozdov in Tag Team action on WWF Sunday Night Heat, and the Hardy Boyz came to the ring, lead by Dok Hendrix and they gave the Brood a blood bath of their own! Matt, Jeff and Dok gave the Brood a taste of their own medicine, or shall I say blood, in what was a bit of revenge for what they did to Dok Hendrix three weeks earlier. After that, Dok Hendrix started going under his previous ring name, which was Michael Hayes. Michael Hayes along with the Hardy Boyz went on somewhat of a mean streak as they attacked guys like Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor as well as others. Their feud with Edge, Christian and Gangrel continued as the group got revenge on Michael Hayes and the Hardy Boyz for giving them a blood bath. One night on RAW is WAR, the Brood got a shot at the Tag Team Titles against the Acolytes and Michael Hayes directed the Hardy Boyz to the ring to cost the Brood the Tag Team Titles. The Hardys distracted Gangrel and that allowed the Acolytes to get the advantage over Gangrel to get the win.

After a while, the Brood and the Hardy Boyz along with Michael Hayes mixed it up in some tag team matches on television. While nothing was solved, they did put on some great matches. With Michael Hayes tearing the Hardy Boyz through the tag team ranks in the WWF, they earned a shot at the Tag Team Titles one night on RAW is WAR against the Acolytes. In a huge upset, the Hardy Boyz were able to capture the Tag Team Titles. They did cheat to win the Titles, but none the less, they became the new Tag Team Champions. Their title reign didn't last long during their first run as the Champions as they went to WWF Fully Loaded shortly after they won the belts against the Acolytes in a 2 vs. 3 Handicap match. The Tag Team Titles were on the line with Matt and Jeff teaming up with their manager, Michael Hayes against the Acolytes, and the Hardys did all they could to retain the belts that night, but the Acolytes were just too powerful for the two. Faarooq and Bradshaw tossed the Hardys out of the ring so they could finish off Michael Hayes, and they did just that by giving him a double team power bomb.

Eventually, the faction known as the Brood went their separate ways and one night on RAW is WAR, the Hardy Boyz were doing a number on Edge along with Gangrel. At that point, Michael Hayes came out to the ring to try to stop them from beating up on Edge, but that didn't do much as the Hardy Boyz turned on their manager, Michael Hayes. The Hardys attacked Michael and left him laying in the ring. Apparently, Jeff and Matt felt that they no longer needed the assistance of Michael Hayes. The Hardy Boyz, led by Gangrel called themselves the "New Brood," and they were thirsty for blood, literally. Going into Summer Slam, the Hardy Boyz got involved in the Tag Team Title situation again, but they didn't get a shot at the belts at Summer Slam. They were involved in a huge tag team turmoil match that included many of the top teams in the WWF. It was a survival type thing, and whoever lasted at the end would get a shot at the tag team titles. Unfortunately for Jeff and Matt, they weren't able to win that contest as the Acolytes wound up against the Hollys in the end of that, and the Acolytes came out on top.

In the fall of 1999, the tag team division was getting stronger as the Dudley Boyz joined the World Wrestling Federation and the New Age Outlaws reformed. While the New Age Outlaws went on to win the WWF Tag Team Titles, Jeff and Matt continued to feud with Edge and Christian. At WWF Unforgiven in September of 1999, Edge and Christian got a shot at the Tag Team Titles, but they were unable to win it as the Hardy Boyz cost them the match, and the titles. Jeff gave Edge a drop kick from the top rope that night and then Billy Gunn was able to get the fame-asser on Edge to finish him off. Something had to give between these two teams, and leading into the next pay per view, a tournament was setup between the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian. It was the Terri Invitational Tournament, and it all came about as Terri set up a tournament. The winners of the Tournament would receive the services of Terri as well as 100,000 dollars!

The tournament was a series of matches with the best three out of five becoming the winners, and it would all end at WWF No Mercy in October. It was originally scheduled to end prior to No Mercy, but it dragged out as far as No Mercy. Edge and Christian won the first and second tournament matches, but Jeff and Matt, the New Brood went on to win the third one. The fourth match was a double count out, and the fifth won wound up with a win from Jeff and Matt, the New Brood. Being that the matches that the Hardys and Edge and Christian were putting on were excellent matches, the final match for WWF No Mercy wound up being a huge ladder match. In that match, the bag of money hung high above the ring from the top of the arena. The No Mercy Ladder Match was one of the most incredible performances in the history of the World Wrestling Federation, and it put these two teams on the map in the WWF. The four put their bodies on the line as they did all they could and anything they could to get the win, with many high spots included during the contest. It was one hell of a contest, and in the end, the Hardy Boyz were able to get the win to win the money and gain the services of Terri Runnels.

The very next night on RAW is WAR, the two teams came to the ring and they were very noticeably bruised and beaten up as they had a hard time walking to the ring. At that point, Matt and Jeff set the record straight. They made it clear that they were the Hardy Boyz, and not the New Brood. From there, the relationship between the Hardy Boyz and Gangrel went stale. The Hardys and Edge and Christian had a new found respect for each other after the ladder match, and they showed that in the ring by shaking hands in front of a huge crowd that stood up and clapped and cheered for the four men. As Gangrel disappeared from the side of the Hardy Boyz, Terri took his place as she accompanied them to the ring for their matches from then on. Due to the fact that the Hardys and Edge and Christian had a new found respect for each other, they started working on the same page and they teamed up together at the Survivor Series. They went against Too Cool and the Holly Cousin in the elimination match up, and the Hardys and Edge and Christian came up on the short end of the stick as Hardcore Holly wound up being the survivor of the match up. Of course, it wasn't the end of the road for the Hardy Boyz.

Going into December's pay per view known as WWF Armageddon, the Hardys had no strong feud going for them and they were thrown into a battle royal on the pay per view. The Hardys didn't win the battle royal as the Acolytes once again proved that they were a strong force in the World Wrestling Federation by pulling off the win. At that very event, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley turned on her father Vince to join Triple H. At that point, Vince and Shane decided to leave television, because they were sickened at the fact that Stephanie turned on them. With no one else there to take control of things, Triple H and Stephanie took control as they booked the matches for the shows, and they booked them in their own, evil way. With the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian on the same page, Triple H and Stephanie did all they could to break up the four by putting them in a steel cage match one night on RAW is WAR. They went on to wrestle that match and Edge and Christian were able to defeat Jeff and Matt that night.

Stephanie and Triple H even tried to turn the Hardy Boyz against each other one night on WWF Smackdown! by booking them in a match against each other. While they did wrestle each other in a great one on one contest, it didn't break the duo up. Jeff came up on the losing end of things that night as Matt was able to pull off the win, and it looked as if Triple H and Stephanie wanted to do their best to get rid of the Hardys, so the Outlaws wouldn't have much competition for their Tag Team Titles. Jeff Hardy was booked in a match against Al Snow one night in a Steel Cage match and Al tried to take the Hardy Boyz out of action by the orders of Triple H. He was unable to take them out of action and Jeff Hardy won that contest, but Matt did suffer from some busted up fingers as he tried to help his brother, Jeff. Leading into the Royal Rumble, the Hardy Boyz got involved in a strong feud with the Dudley Boyz, who were new to the World Wrestling Federation, but were very familiar with tag team wrestling as they were a huge force in ECW.

The Royal Rumble was approaching and the Dudley Boyz were running rapid in the World Wrestling Federation by putting people through tables. A match was set for the Royal Rumble between the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boyz and it was a tag team table match. In what was another great performance by the Hardy Boyz along with the Dudley Boyz, it was one of the most hard fought matches as both team gave it all they had to put each other out of action. In the end, Jeff and Matt Hardy got the win when Jeff gave D-Von a swanton bomb from the balcony onto the table to get the win. The next night on RAW is WAR, the Hardy Boyz got a shot at the tag team titles against the New Age Outlaws, and during that match, the Dudleys came out to look on. The Dudleys got involved and they beat up on the Hardy Boyz and the Outlaws retained the belts as a result of that, but the Hardys did win by disqualification. After the Dudley Boyz beat down the Hardy Boyz, they decided to put Terri through a table and that took Terri out of action for a long time to come.

With Terri out of action, both the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian wanted to get back at the tag team titles, so a match was set for WWF No Way Out in February. The Hardy Boyz went against Edge and Christian in a number one contenders match and at this point, Terri was able to return to the WWF to be in the corner of the Hardy Boyz. She didn't seem to want to help the Hardy Boyz much during that match and she actually cost them the match that night. Jeff went to the top rope to finish the match and Terri got on the apron and shoved him off. From there, she then slapped Matt Hardy in the face and then Christian gave Matt the Unprettier and a pin to get the win. Terri stated that the reason she turned on the Hardy Boyz was because they never went to the hospital to visit her while she was laid up in a bed, injured.

For a while, it looked as if Terri was going to join Edge and Christian to be their valet slash manager, but that never went down. Edge and Christian did develop a new attitude in the World Wrestling Federation, though. Going into Wrestlemania, a feud redeveloped between the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian and Edge and Christian didn't seem to like how the Hardy Boyz were always talking about themselves. After that, they developed a new and nasty attitude. The Wrestlemania match was for the WWF Tag Team Titles as the Champions, the Dudley Boyz were defending their belts against Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz in a Triple Threat Ladder Match. In what was another spectacular performance by the three teams, they gave it their all to put on a great show for the fans and to win the Tag Team Titles. This time around, Edge and Christian, with their new attitude and all, walked out of Wrestlemania as the WWF Tag Team Champions.

Going into WWF Backlash, which was the next pay per view offering from the World Wrestling Federation, Jeff and Matt Hardy got involved in something new. While they have been high flying and extreme wrestlers and they have gone to all extremes to win their matches, they decided to enter the WWF Hardcore Division, but it wasn't for the long term. They were involved in a Six Person Hardcore Battle Royal type match at WWF Backlash. Jeff and Matt did everything they could to do win the WWF Hardcore Title, but they were going against bigger men such as Hardcore Holly, Perry Saturn and Tazz. They were two of the smallest guys going into the match, but the Hardcore Champion himself was a rather small guy in Crash Holly. They did everything they could to use their high flying, extreme action to get the belt, but they were unable to do so as Crash Holly pinned Tazz to retain the WWF Hardcore Championship belt. The Hardcore division didn't seem to be the Hardys' cup of tea as they went back into the tag team division.

After WWF Backlash, the Hardy Boyz continued to compete on television as a tag team, but they weren't featured on the next pay per view of Judgment Day. At Judgment Day, there was a 60 minute Ironman match, which left it limited as to how many guys could make it to the card, so the Hardy Boyz didn't make it to the pay per view. On May 25th, Jeff Hardy went against Essa Rios in a one on one contest, and after the match, Essa Rios abused his valet, Lita. The Hardy Boyz had already left the ring after the match, but they stormed back to the ring to make the save for the lovely Lita. Lita eventually became the valet of the Hardy Boyz, and Jeff and Matt made it to the King of the Ring for a shot at the Tag Team Titles in a Four Team Elimination match with Too Cool going in as the Champions. In that match, the other teams that were involved were T&A and Edge and Christian as well as the Hardy Boyz, of course. The Hardy Boyz were able to eliminate T&A in the early goings, but that was the end of the road for them as Edge and Christian were able to do a number on the Hardys. Christian gave Matt the Unprettier to eliminate him.

In the end, it wound up with Edge and Christian against Too Cool and to end the contest, Christian nailed Grandmaster Sexay in the head with the Tag Team Championship belt and then Edge pinned him to get the win to win the WWF Tag Team Championship. With Lita in their corner, the Hardy Boyz went onto become a force in the tag team ranks, and Lita helped them out as many times as she could during their matches. Eventually, the Hardys came across T&A and Trish Stratus. T&A was Test and Albert as a tag team that was formed by Trish. There was a bit of a cat fight between Trish Stratus and the lovely Lita and the Hardy Boyz and Lita went to WWF Fully Loaded in July in a six person Intergender tag team match against Test, Albert and Trish Stratus. The focus on the match seemed to be on Trish Stratus and Lita as the match finished off with them. The Hardy Boyz and T&A did get their hands on each other a number of times during the match and in the end of the match, Lita got the high moon sault on Trish Stratus and then she pinned her to get the win.

In the summer of 2000, a new faction was formed in the WWF, and it was the Right to Censor. Steven Richard decided that the World Wrestling Federation was going too far over the edge and he wanted to put a stop to it by forming a group to censor the actions by the WWF. Steven Richards recruited the Godfather and Bull Buchanan as well as Val Venis and Ivory. The Godfather changed his wrestling name to the Goodfather and he went on to dump the hos. The Right to Censor crossed paths with the Hardy Boyz and Lita, because they didn't like the way they dressed, and the way that Lita's pants always seemed to be falling down. The RTC had a few matches on television against Jeff and Matt Hardy, but nothing real big as the Hardy Boyz went to Summer Slam, in their home state for the Tag Team Titles. In a match that was another awesome match up, it was a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. The Hardy Boyz were the masters of the ladders, Edge and Christian used chairs to their advantage all they could, and of course, the Dudley Boyz were table fanatics. The match was made by then Commissioner, Mick Foley.

Going into the match at Summer Slam, Edge and Christian were the WWF Tag Team Champions, and the Hardy Boyz were looking to take the gold from them as they were in their home state, and of course, they wanted to get their hands on the Tag Team Titles for a while. The match was one of the most high flying and intense matches that you'll ever witness, and if you can get your hands on a copy of it, I suggest you do so and watch it over and over again as it was very entertaining and very competitive. Unfortunately for the Hardy Boyz, they were unable to come out on top with the Tag Team Titles, but they did put on one hell of a show. In the end, Edge and Christian were able to get up and get the tag team titles that were hanging above the ring to retain the belts. That wasn't the end of the road for the Hardy Boyz as they continued to go after the Tag Team Titles and Edge and Christian, and things got personal!

The feud between Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz got a bit personal as they went into the next pay per view of WWF Unforgiven in a steel cage match for the Tag Team Titles. Leading into the pay per view, Edge and Christian taught everyone a lesson about the Hardy Boyz and they showed some backyard wrestling footage of the two. For those of you who don't know this, the Hardy Boyz actually trained themselves in their backyard in Cameron, North Carolina. They even went on to train with Lita, and Edge and Christian did all they could to embarrass the Hardy Boyz going into the PPV event. That didn't stop the Hardy Boyz from going into the event for the Tag Team Titles. In the early goings of the match, Jeff Hardy was eliminated from the contest, and he didn't seem to be in too good of shape as he had been putting his body on the line one too many times. While many say that Jeff Hardy is a great wrestler and a great high flyer, which he is, he needs to tone down if he wants to stay in this business for a long time to come.

Anyway, their match at WWF Unforgiven was a pretty decent contest as Edge and Christian were both left in the ring to battle against Matt Hardy. Matt did everything he could to over come the odds against Edge and Christian and Jeff did all he could to get back in the cage to help his older brother. Edge and Christian were able to stop Jeff from getting back in the cage many times, but Jeff eventually got in the ring by climbing to the top of the cage and jumping on Edge and Matt with a corkscrew moonsault, which Jeff likes to call the Whisper in the Wind. The Hardy Boyz and Edge got in the top of the cage as Christian was already knocked to the outside of the cage and the Hardys got chairs and they nailed Edge with the "Conchairto" that Edge and Christian have made famous. Edge fell back into the ring and then the Hardy Boyz got out of the cage, getting the win and winning the WWF Tag Team Titles for the second time. Speaking of making things famous, the Hardy Boyz have made the "Poetry in Motion" famous as said by Michael Cole.

The Poetry in Motion is a double team move that is done by the Hardy Boyz, where Matt Hardy gets down on his hands and knees down on the mat with an opponent in the corner. From there, Jeff Hardy runs from the other corner and he springs off of the back of his brother Matt onto his opponent with somewhat of a heel kick. The Hardy Boyz credit Michael Cole for calling it "Poetry in Motion" as that's what he said one night during commentary. From there, the double team move was dubbed "The Poetry in Motion." The very next night was the debut episode of WWF RAW is WAR on TNN, and Mick Foley wanted to make that night a memorable one as they were having some big things going down that night and he made a ladder match between the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian for the WWF Tag Team Titles! The match up featured a lot of high risk moves much like their first ladder match at No Mercy the year before, and in the end, the Hardy Boyz were able to retain the WWF Tag Team Titles.

That night, then WWF Commissioner, Mick Foley told Edge and Christian that if they didn't win the WWF Tag Team Titles, it would be their last shot at the titles as long as the Hardy Boyz were the Champions. Leading into the next pay per view, Edge and Christian did all they could to cost the Hardy Boyz the Tag Team Titles, so they could once again get a shot at the Tag Team belts, but they weren't able to get the straps from Jeff and Matt. Until WWF No Mercy, that is. No Mercy came along ,and a tag team from the 80s returned to the tag team scene in the WWF, and it was the Conquistadors. The Conquistadors earned a shot at the tag team belts, and many believed that they were Edge and Christian under the masks as they acted like the former champs. The two wrestled as "One" and "Two" when they were under the masks. One of them gave Matt the "Unprettier" and then he pinned him for a three count to get the win. The Conquistadors became the WWF Tag Team Champions in the year 2000! Si Senior!

The very next night on RAW is WAR, we found out that it was indeed Edge and Christian under the masks as they were ready to go to the ring against two unknown guys dressed as the Conquistadors to win the belts. The Hardys found out and they took Christian out of action beforehand and then the Hardys got their hands on the Conquistador suits and they came to the ring against Edge. Edge thought he was going to go in there and win the WWF Tag Team Titles, but the Conquistadors did a number on the former Intercontinental Champion. They gave him the Poetry in Motion and then one of them gave Edge the Twist of Fate, followed by the Swanton bomb by the other! Edge was pinned for the three count and the Conquistadors were awarded the win. Mick Foley then came out and showed the world that Edge and Christian were talking to the two unknown men that they had under the masks as the Conquistadors. At that point, Mick said that he would allow the title change from the night before to count, but then that night's title change would count as well and the Hardy Boyz were awarded the Tag Team Titles for the third time!

The Hardy Boyz went to the Survivor Series pay per view event in a traditional Survivor Series match along with the Dudley Boyz against the Right to Censor and Edge and Christian. Of course, the World Wrestling Federation Tag team Titles weren't on the line as the Right to Censor were the Champions. Prior to the pay per view event, the Hardy Boyz dropped the Tag Team titles to the Right to Censor on RAW is WAR. The Survivor Series match went on and it was a hard fought contest by both teams, but unfortunately for Matt hardy, he was eliminated from the contest as he was pinned by Edge after the "Edge-o-matic." In the end, it was Jeff Hardy against Christian and the Goodfather and Jeff was able to eliminate Christian, using his high flying ability with the swanton bomb. From there, Jeff took down the Goodfather and then he pinned him for a three count to eliminate him to get the win. That wasn't the end of the fight there as both teams got back in the ring and went at it. Matt gave Val a leg drop through a table as the Dudleys set up the tables and then Buh Buh Ray Dudley gave Steven Richards a power bomb through another table.

Going into the next pay per view of WWF Armageddon, the Hardy Boyz got involved in a feud with the reformed Radicalz. It seemed as if Dean Malenko couldn't take his eyes off of Lita, and apparently, he wanted to go on a date with her. The Hardys didn't want Lita to go out with Dean, and neither did Lita, but one night on RAW is WAR, Dean Malenko gave Lita a shot at the Light Heavyweight Title. If Dean won, they would go out on a date, and if Lita won, she would be the new WWF Light Heavyweight Champion. Dean Malenko was able to easily defeat Lita, and the following edition of WWF Smackdown! saw Lita and Dean Malenko go on a date. They wound up at a hotel, and Lita was teasing Dean Malenko in the hotel room and then the Hardy Boyz showed up out of no where and they attacked Dean Malenko. They broke a bottle over his head and then tossed him behind the bed. Armageddon saw the Hardy Boyz and Lita team up against Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn in a six person Intergender tag team elimination match up.

Jeff Hardy was able to eliminate Eddie Guerrero in the early goings, only to get eliminated by Perry Saturn moments later. Matt got pay back on Saturn for eliminating Jeff by giving him the Twist of Fate and then a pin for a three count to eliminate him. It wound up with Dean Malenko against Matt Hardy and Lita in the end! Dean was able to roll up Matt from behind to eliminate him, and things didn't seem too well at all for Lita as she was left in there against Dean Malenko. Dean got the Texas Cloverleaf on Lita to get the win and then he tossed her to the outside of the ring as if to say she was a piece of garbage. As Dean Malenko continued to try to get at Lita after the pay per view, the Hardy Boyz did all they could to defend Lita. The Hardys went against Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn the night after WWF Armageddon, but the Hardys were on the losing end of the stick as Dean and Saturn were able to pull off the win.

One night on RAW is WAR, Dean Malenko tossed a tray of mustard onto Lita and it got all over her. From there, she was forced to go to the backstage area and shower where Dean Malenko attempted to spy on her. At that point, Dean Malenko was jumped by both of the Hardy Boyz and he was taken out of action when they slammed his leg under the legs of a table with a chair. Dean was taken out of action due to that as he had to take some time off for knee surgery. The next pay per view that came along was the Royal Rumble and both of the Hardy Boyz were entered into the 30 man over the top rope royal rumble contest. The winner would go to Wrestlemania for a shot at the WWF Title, but neither of the Hardy Boyz were able to win that contest. They were even in the ring at the same time, and they cleared the ring of whoever they were going against and then they went at it against each other! The Hardys even eliminated each other from the contest. The next night on RAW is WAR, they went against the Acolytes in a tag team contest. In that match, it looked as if the Hardy Boyz weren't on the same page, and the Acolytes were able to score the win over the Hardys.

The following edition of WWF Smackdown! saw Matt Hardy team up with Faarooq against Jeff Hardy and Bradshaw, and in the end of that, the Hardys proved that they were still on the same page by pulling a fast one on the Acolytes and beating on them in the ring! The Hardy Boyz and Lita continued their feud with Dean Malenko and it all ended on 2/19 on RAW is WAR with Lita against Dean Malenko in a one on one match. Lita defeated Dean Malenko that night to end the feud, and Matt got caught up in the emotion and gave Lita a kiss and a hug in the ring. Lita seemed shocked, but after that, Matt started to leave and Lita caught up with him on the ramp and French kissed him in front of the world. It was apparent that the two had some type of relationship. Jeff Hardy was okay with that, but the tag team wrestling between Matt and Jeff deteriorated as time went on. On March 5th, the Hardy Boyz went against the Dudley Boyz in a Tag Team Title match, and they were able to pull off an upset to win the Federation Tag Team Straps.

Not too long after regaining the tag team straps, the Hardys were challenged by the Dudley Boyz in a rematch, but the Dudley Boyz didn't seem to be at the arena, so Edge and Christian weaseled their way into a tag team title shot against the Hardy Boyz. Edge and Christian were able to capture the win and walk away with the Championship belts with the help of a long time friend and a new comer to the World Wrestling Federation, Rhyno! Rhyno speared the hell out of Jeff Hardy and that allowed Edge to pin him for a three count to get the win to win the tag team titles. Later in the night, the Dudleys finally arrived at the arena and they went to Commissioner Regal and got their tag team title match against Edge and Christian, since they had already walked away with the gold. Rhyno had left the arena by the time the match went on, and the Dudley Boyz were able to score the win over Edge and Christian with a help of a little friend of theirs from ECW by the name of Spike Dudley! At Wrestlemania, a match was made between the three teams, the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian and it was a rematch from their Summer Slam Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. Simply dubbed TLC 2, the Hardy Boyz, Edge and Christian and the Dudley Boyz went into the match, wanting to raise the bar.

Wanting to top their Summer Slam match, and they may have done that. This time around, Rhyno and Spike Dudley were an unofficial part of the match as they came to the ring and did all they could to assist their teams in getting the win. In the end, Edge and Christian proved that they were the best in a match like that as they walked out with the Tag Team Championship belts. At Wrestlemania, Stone Cold Steve Austin turned on the world as he joined Mr. McMahon by winning the WWF Championship belt. That lead to an alliance with Stone Cold and Triple H, dubbed the two man power trip. Just one week after Wrestlemania, Linda McMahon came out and told the world that she wanted a divorce from Vince McMahon and after that, Lita spoke to Linda, saying that she admired the fact that Linda stood up for herself. That lead to Vince McMahon putting Lita and the Hardy Boyz in a six person tag team match against Stephanie, Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the main event on RAW that night. The match went on and the crowd was hot the entire time and the Hardy Boyz and Lita pulled off an upset over Stone Cold, Triple H and Stephanie as Lita pinned Stephanie for a three count to get the win.

After that, Stone Cold and Triple H went on a rampage and beat down Matt, Jeff and Lita in the middle of the ring. That lead to an Intercontinental Championship match against Triple H, who won the Intercontinental Title from Chris Jericho shortly after Wrestlemania. In a huge upset and with the help of his brother Matt, Jeff Hardy was able to capture the Intercontinental Championship belt from Triple H, but that didn't last long as the following Monday night saw Triple H regain the belt from Jeff. That lead to another beating with Stone Cold and Triple H beating down the Hardy Boyz but then the Undertaker and Kane saw enough as they came out and stopped Stone Cold and Triple H from beating down the young Hardys. WWF Backlash's main event was the Undertaker and Kane against Stone Cold and Triple H with all of the titles on the line. While that main event went down, Matt Hardy found himself with a singles championship belt as he defeated Eddie Guerrero for the European Belt just days before Backlash. After Matt won the belt, Christian wanted to get his hands on Matt Hardy's European belt, so he went to Commissioner Regal for a match. Regal gave him the match, but he also gave Eddie the match, making it a triple threat match for the European Championship.

The match went on, and it was a decent match with Matt Hardy retaining the European Championship belts. Edge attempted to cost Matt the title, allowing Christian to win it, but he was unable to do so. The very next night on RAW is WAR, Edge got a shot at the European belt, but he was unable to win it as Jeff Hardy rolled Christian into the ring, right onto the referee. That cost Edge the match in the long run as Matt was able to pull off the win to retain the European Title. After that, Edge and Christian got in somewhat of an argument, which lead to speculation that Edge and Christian would be breaking up. Edge and Christian stayed together as a team, as did Matt and Jeff Hardy, despite Matt's winning the European Championship belt. At WWF Judgment Day, the Hardy Boyz were a part of a tag team turmoil match to determine the number one contenders for the Tag Team Championship belts. Despite being one of the best tag teams in the World Wrestling Federation, the Hardy Boyz didn't fare so well in the Turmoil match as they lost to X-Factor in their first and only outing.

The winners of the Tag Team Turmoil match were Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit and they went on to win the Tag Team Titles the next night on RAW is WAR. The following Thursday, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit were forced to put the titles on the line in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, which would be the first ever televised TLC match, and the first ever TLC match to feature four teams. In recent weeks, Eddie Guerrero weaseled his way to be friends with the Hardy Boyz, and he convinced them to trust him. Matt didn't seem to be as okay with it as Jeff Hardy, but none the less, Eddie Guerrero showed that he was on their side as he turned on his own friends, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko. Was Eddie Guerrero trying to get at Lita, or did he need a new place to fit in as Saturn and Malenko didn't seem too kind to Eddie? Time would tell. One night on RAW is WAR, Eddie Guerrero had a match against Albert and Eddie was able to defeat the big man. After the match, Lita came to the ring and hugged Eddie Guerrero.

Eddie seemed surprised at first, but he seemed to like it. On June 7th, Jeff Hardy went against the Light Heavyweight Champion, Jerry Lynn in a one on one match and he was able to capture the title from the newcomer. Going into the King of the Ring, it was expected that Eddie Guerrero would go against Matt Hardy in a Qualifying match, but due to personal problems, Eddie Guerrero was taken off of Television. Instead, Jeff Hardy got a shot against his brother Matt to get into the King of the Ring. Jeff Hardy defeated Matt Hardy to Qualify for the King of the Ring, but he wasn't able to make it to the pay per view. After defeating his brother, Matt Hardy, Jeff was up against the 2000 King of the Ring, Kurt Angle. Jeff did all he could to win that match, but Angle was able to prevail and advance to the King of the Ring pay per view. A few weeks before the King of the Ring pay per view, Jeff Hardy went up against the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion and his name was Jerry Lynn. Jeff Hardy was able to defeat the Federation newcomer with the swanton bomb to win the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship Belt! Going into the King of the Ring as the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion, Jeff ran into some Light Heavyweight competition as X-Pac challenged him for the belt.

X-Pac wasn't able to win the belt from Hardy at the King of the Ring pay per view, but the very next night on RAW is WAR, X-Pac got another shot at the belt and defeated the young Jeff Hardy for the Gold. At the King of the Ring, the Invasion of World Championship Wrestling onto World Wrestling Federation Television kicked into full swing as the WCW Heavyweight Champion went after the WWF Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Going into Invasion, it looked as if it would be Champion vs. Champion, but a huge 10 man tag team match was made with WCW against the WWF. Before the pay per view, ECW was played into the mix as Rob Van Dam and Tommy Dreamer entered the WWF and attacked Kane and Chris Jericho, who were going against Lance Storm and Mike Awesome in a tag team match. With the Invasion of ECW and WCW, Jeff Hardy went after Mike Awesome for the Hardcore Title. Jeff was able to capture the gold from Mike Awesome and he ran into another Hardcore competitor at WWF Invasion. It was Rob Van Dam against Jeff Hardy. A dream match to many, finally going down. At Invasion, Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam pulled out all the stops and Rob was able to defeat Jeff Hardy to win the WWF Hardcore title, using the Five Star Frog Splash.

Also at Invasion, the World Wrestling Federation was changed, forever. Out of all the matches, Team WCW / ECW won it all as Stone Cold Steve Austin turned his back on the Federation and joined the Alliance at Invasion.

Matt:
Real Name: Matt Hardy
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 220 Pounds
From: Cameron, North Carolina
Finishing Move: Twist of Fate
Career Highlights by WeirdKevin:

Matt and Jeff Hardy trained themselves to wrestle in their backyard in Cameron, North Carolina in the spring of 1990. When Matt and Jeff Hardy entered the World Wrestling Federation, they didn't enter in 1998 like many think. (But they did sign official contracts in 1998.) Not many know this, but Matt and Jeff Hardy have been wrestling with the World Wrestling Federation on and off since 1994. Jeff Hardy was probably around 16 when he entered the WWF. He lied and said that he was 18, so he could get in. Matt Hardy was around 18 or 19. In their early WWF days, the Hardy Boyz didn't wrestle as a tag team. They wrestled as Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy in the singles ranks against the stars. They were what we call now, Jobbers to the Stars. Both Matt and Jeff remained as jobbers for a long time to come, and one of them even competed against Rob Van Dam on RAW is WAR during the ECW Invasion. It is said that it was Jeff Hardy, in magazines and such, but it was actually Matt Hardy who competed against Rob Van Dam.
The Hardy Boyz, as a tag team finally got their break in late 1998. There were many rumors going around that they wanted to get into Degeneration X, and there was even articles in the official WWF Magazine about the Hardys wanting to join DX, and they gave the DX signal. Matt and Jeff never joined Degeneration X, but they did make it to TV in some matches against guys like the Big Bossman and Ken Shamrock, Too Much, the Legion of Doom and many others. The Hardy Boyz got a huge win over the Legion of Doom, but it wasn't Hawk and Animal. It was Droz and Animal, and they got into a shoving contest in that match, and the Hardy Boyz were able to pull off the big upset. The Hardy Boyz got their big break when they went under the wing of Dok Hendrix, also known as Michael Hayes. On the first edition of WWF Smackdown! in April of 1999, Dok Hendrix was doing an interview with Edge, Christian and Gangrel, collectively known as the Brood, and they didn't seem too nice to Dok as he called them nothing more than gimmicks, and the Brood wanted to prove otherwise. After Michael Hayes called Dok Hendrix nothing but gimmicks, they did all they could to prove otherwise by giving him a blood bath in the middle of the ring.

Not too long after that, Edge and Gangrel were taking on Prince Albert and Darren Drozdov on WWF Sunday Night Heat, and after the Brood won that match up, Dok Hendrix and the Hardy Boyz came to the ringside area and gave the Brood a blood bath of their own! Matt, Jeff and Dok gave Edge, Christian and Gangrel a taste of their own medicine as a bit of revenge for what they did to Dok three weeks earlier. After that, Dok Hendrix started to go under his previous ring name, and that was Michael Hayes. Michael Hayes along with the Hardy Boyz went on a mean streak by attacking guys like Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor, known as Too Much and others, but their feud with Edge, Christian and Gangrel continued as the group got revenge on Michael Hayes and the Hardy Boyz for giving them a blood bath. One night on RAW is WAR, the Brood got a shot at the Tag Team Titles against the Acolytes and Michael Hayes directed the Hardy Boyz to the ring to cost them the Tag Team Titles. The Hardys distracted Gangrel and that allowed the Acolytes to get the advantage over Gangrel to get the win.

Eventually, the Brood and the Hardy Boyz along with Michael Hayes mixed it up in some tag team matches on television, and while nothing was solved, they did put on some great matches. With Michael Hayes tearing the Hardy Boyz through the tag team ranks in the World Wrestling Federation, they earned a shot at the Tag Team Belts one night on RAW is WAR against the Acolytes and in a huge upset, they were able to capture the gold. They did cheat and used a cane against the Acolytes, but none the less, they became the new WWF Tag Team Champions that night. The Hardys' title reign didn't last that long during their first run as the Champions as they went to WWF Fully Loaded in July of 1999 against the Acolytes in a 2 vs. 3 Handicap match with the Tag Team Titles on the line. It was Matt, Jeff and Michael Hayes against the Acolytes in that match, and the Hardys did all they could to win and retain the belts, but the Acolytes were just too powerful. Faarooq and Bradshaw tossed the Hardy Boyz out of the ring so they could finish off Michael Hayes, and they did just that by giving him a double team power bomb, and then a pin to win the titles back.

Eventually, the faction known as the Brood went their separate ways, and one night on RAW is WAR, Matt and Jeff were doing a number on Edge along with Gangrel, and Michael Hayes came to the ring to try to stop them from beating up on Edge. That didn't do much as the Hardy Boyz attacked Michael Hayes and left him laying. Apparently, Matt and Jeff felt that they no longer needed the assistance of Michael Hayes. Gangrel along with the Hardy Boyz called themselves the New Brood, and they were thirsty for blood! The Hardy Boyz were involved in a Tag Team Turmoil match up at Summer Slam in 1999 to determine who would be the number one contenders for the Tag Team titles, and there were a number of teams involved in that match, including Edge and Christian as well as the Acolytes. The Acolytes were able to come out on top in the end of that one as they defeated Hardcore and Crash Holly in the end of that contest.

In the fall of 1999, the Tag Team Division was switched up a bit as the Dudley Boyz joined the World Wrestling Federation and the New Age Outlaws reformed their legendary team. While the New Age Outlaws went on to win the WWF Tag Team Championship, Matt and Jeff Hardy continued to feud with Edge and Christian. At WWF Unforgiven in September of 1999, Edge and Christian got a shot at the Tag Team Titles, but they were unable to win it, due to the fact that the Hardy Boyz were there to cost them the match and the Tag Team Titles. Jeff Hardy gave Edge a drop kick from the top rope that night and then Billy Gunn was able to get the fame-asser on Edge to finish him off and win the match. Something had to give, and leading into the next pay per view, a Tournament was made between the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian.

It was the Terri Invitational Tournament, and it all came about as Terri set up a tournament, and the winners would receive the services of Terri, and 100,000 dollars! This was a series of matches with the best 3 out of 5 becoming the winners, and it would all end at WWF No Mercy in October. Edge and Christian won the first Tournament match as Christian gave one of the Hardy Boyz a super plex from the top of Edge's shoulders! Edge and Christian then went on to win the second Tournament match as well, but that wasn't the end of the road for the New Brood as they fought back and won the third match. The fourth match wound up as a double count out and the fifth won wound up with a win from the Hardy Boyz. Being that the matches that the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian were putting on were excellent matches, the final match for WWF No Mercy wound up being a ladder match, with the bag of money hanging from the top of the arena. The No Mercy Ladder match was one of the most incredible performances ever from these two teams, and they put their bodies on the line during the entire match, with many high spots included during the contest. It was one hell of a contest, and in the end, the Hardy Boyz were able to get the win to win the money and gain the services of Terri Runnels.

The very next night on RAW is WAR, the two teams came to the ring and they were noticeably bruised and beaten up as they had a hard time walking to the ring. At that point, Matt and Jeff Hardy set the record straight, saying that they weren't the New Brood. They were the Hardy Boyz. The Hardys and Edge and Christian had a new found respect for each other after the ladder match and they showed that in the ring by shaking hands. It looked as if Gangrel was no longer associated with the Hardy Boyz as Terri took his place. The Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian teamed together a couple of times against other tag teams in the World Wrestling Federation and they even went to the Survivor Series that year to team up against Too Cool and the Holly Cousins in an elimination match up. The Hardys and Edge and Christian came up on the short end of the stick as Hardcore Holly was the survivor of that match up, but of course, it wasn't the end of the road for the Hardy Boyz.

Going into December's pay per view known as WWF Armageddon, the Hardy Boyz had no strong feud going for them, and they were thrown into a Battle Royal at the pay per view event. The Hardys didn't win the Battle Royal as the Acolytes once again proved that they were a strong force in the WWF by winning it. At that very event, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley turned on her father, Vince to join Triple H. At that point, Vince and Shane decided to leave television, and being that there was no one else there to take control of things, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley booked the matches for the shows, and they booked them in their own way. With the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian on the same page, Triple H and Stephanie did all they could to break that up by putting them in a steel cage match against each other on RAW is WAR. They went on to wrestle that match and Edge and Christian were able to defeat the Hardy Boyz that night.

One night on WWF Smackdown!, Triple H and Stephanie tried to turn the Hardy Boyz on each other by having them go against each other. While they did wrestle each other in a one on one contest, it didn't break the team up. Matt Hardy wound up winning that contest, and it looked as if Triple H and Stephanie wanted to do their best to get rid of the Hardy Boyz, so they wouldn't be competition for the New Age Outlaws' Tag Team Titles. Jeff Hardy was booked in a steel cage match one night against Al Snow, and Al tried to take the Hardy Boyz out of action as Triple H told him to do so, but he was unable to take them out of action. Jeff Hardy won that match, but Matt did suffer some busted up fingers as he tried to help his brother. Leading into the Royal Rumble, the Hardy Boyz got involved in a strong feud with the Dudley Boyz, who were new to the World Wrestling Federation, but were very familiar with tag team wrestling.

The Royal Rumble was coming about, and the Dudley Boyz were running rampid in the World Wrestling Federation by putting people through tables. A match was set for the Royal Rumble, and it was a Tag Team Table Match. In what was another great performance by the Hardy Boyz along with the Dudley Boyz, it was one of the most hard fought matches as both teams gave it all they had to put each other out of action. In the end, Matt and Jeff Hardy got the win when Jeff gave D-Von the Swanton Bomb from the Balcony onto a table to get the win! The next night on RAW is WAR, the Hardy Boyz got a shot at the Tag Team Titles against the New Age Outlaws, and during that contest, the Dudleys came to the ringside area and got a table set up and watched the match. From there, the Dudleys pulled the referee out of the ring and then they got in the ring and beat up on the Hardy Boyz.

The Outlaws retained the titles that night, but the Hardys got the win by disqualification. After the Dudleys beat down the Hardy Boyz, they grabbed hold of Terri and Buh Buh decided to put her through a table! With Terri on the shelf, and in the hospital, The Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian both wanted to get back at the WWF Tag Team Championship belts, so a match was set for WWF No Way Out in 2000 with the Hardy Boyz against Edge and Christian in a number one contenders match. At this point, Terri was able to return to the WWF to be in the corner of the Hardy Boyz, but she didn't help the Hardy Boyz win the match. She cost the Hardy Boyz the Tag Team Belts when Jeff went to the top rope and she shoved him off. At that point, Terri slapped Matt across the face and then Christian gave him the Unprettier to get the win! Terri's excuse for turning on the Hardy Boyz was that they didn't visit her in the hospital at all while she was injured.

For a while, it looked as if Terri was going to join Edge and Christian to be their valet slash manager, but that never went down. Edge and Christian did develop a new attitude in the World Wrestling Federation, though. Going into Wrestlemania, a feud developed between the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian. Edge and Christian didn't seem to like how the Hardy Boyz were always talking about themselves in a goody two shoes type of way. After that, they developed a new attitude. The Wrestlemania match was for the WWF Tag Team Titles as the Champions, the Dudley Boyz were defending their belts against Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz in a Triple Threat Ladder match. In what was another spectacular performance by the three teams, they all gave it their all to put on a great show for the fans and to win the Tag Team Titles, but this time, Edge and Christian, with their new attitude and all, won the Tag Team Titles.

Going into the next pay per view event of WWF Backlash, Matt and Jeff got involved in something new. While they have been extremely high flying wrestlers, and they have gone to all extremes to win their matches, they have decided to enter the Hardcore Division, but it wasn't for the long term. They were involved in a Six Person Hardcore Battle Royal type match at WWF Backlash. Matt and Jeff did everything they could to win the match as they were going against Crash Holly, Hardcore Holly, Perry Saturn and Tazz. They were two of the smallest guys going into the match, so they did everything they could to use their high flying action against the Hardcore Wrestlers to win the Hardcore Title. In the end, Crash Holly pinned Tazz to retain the WWF Hardcore Championship belt. The Hardcore division didn't seem to be the Hardys' cup of tea as they went back to the tag team division.

After WWF Backlash, the Hardy Boyz continued to compete on television, but they weren't featured on the next pay per view, Judgment Day. At Judgment Day, there was a 60 minute Ironman match, which left it limited as to how many guys could make it to the card. On May 25th, Jeff Hardy went against Essa Rios, and after the contest, Essa Rios abused his valet, Lita. The Hardy Boyz came to the rescue of Lita, and Lita eventually became the valet for the Hardys. Matt and Jeff Hardy made it to the King of the Ring for a shot at the WWF Tag Team Titles in a Four Team Elimination match with Too Cool going in as the Champions. In a match that included Too Cool, Edge and Christian and T&A, it went on and the Hardy Boyz were able to eliminate T&A, but that was the end of the road for them as Edge and Christian were able to do a number on the Hardys. Christian gave Matt Hardy the Unprettier, and then he pinned him for a three count to get the win to eliminate him.

It wound up with Edge and Christian against Too Cool in the end, and to end the contest, Christian nailed Grandmaster Sexay in the back of the head with the Championship belt and then Edge pinned him to get the win to win the Tag Team Titles. With Lita in their corner, the Hardy Boyz went on to become a force in the tag team ranks, and Lita helped them out as many times during their matches. Eventually, the Hardys came across T&A and Trish Stratus, and with Lita in their corner, there was a bit of a cat fight. The Hardys and Lita went to WWF Fully Loaded in July of 2000 in a six person, Intergender tag team match against Test, Albert and Trish Stratus. The focus of the match seemed to be on Trish Stratus and Lita as the match finished off with them, but the Hardy Boyz and T&A did get their hands on each other a number of times during the contest. In the end of the match, Lita got the high moon sault on Trish Stratus and then she pinned her for a three count to rack up a win for her and the Hardys.

In the summer of 2000, a new faction was formed in the WWF, and it was the Right to Censor. Steven Richards decided that the World Wrestling Federation was going too far over the edge, and he wanted to put a stop to it by forming a group to censor the actions of the WWF. Steven Richards recruited the Godfather and Bull Buchanan as well as Val Venis and Ivory. The Godfather changed his wrestling name to the Goodfather, and he dumped the hos. The Right to Censor crossed paths with the Hardy Boyz, because they didn't like the way they dressed and the way Lita dressed when she came out to the arena. The RTC had a few matches on television against the Hardy Boyz, but nothing real big as the Hardy Boyz went to Summer Slam in their home state for the Tag Team Championship belts in a "Tables, Ladders and Chairs" Match. Being that Edge and Christian were using chairs to their advantage to win their matches, and the Hardy Boyz use ladders real well, and the Dudley Boyz use tables real well, that match was made by then Commissioner, Mick Foley.

Going into the match at Summer Slam, Edge and Christian were the WWF Tag Team Champions, and the Hardy Boyz were looking to take the gold from them as they were in their home state, and of course, they wanted to get their hands on the WWF Tag Team Titles for a while. The match was one of the most high flying and intense matches that you'll ever witness, and if you can get your hands on a copy of it, I suggest you watch it over and over again as it was very entertaining and very competitive. Unfortunately for the Hardy Boyz, they were unable to come out on top with the Tag Team Championship belts, but they did put on a hell of a show. In the end, Edge and Christian were able to get up and get the Tag Team Titles that were hanging above the ring to retain the belts. This wasn't the end of the road for the Hardy Boyz as they continued to go after Edge and Christian for the Tag Team Titles and it got personal!

The feud between Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz got personal as they went into the next pay per view of WWF Unforgiven in a steel cage match for the Tag Team Titles. Prior to the pay per view, Edge and Christian taught everyone a lesson about the Hardy Boyz, and they showed some backyard wrestling footage of the two. For those of you who don't know, the Hardy Boyz trained themselves in their backyards in Cameron, North Carolina. They even went on to train with Lita, and Edge and Christian attempted to embarrass the Hardy Boyz going into the pay per view event. That didn't stop the Hardy Boyz from going to the pay per view event for the Tag Team titles. In the early goings of the match, Jeff Hardy was eliminated from the contest, and he didn't seem to be in too good of shape as he has been putting his body on the line one too many times.

Matt Hardy did everything he could to over come the odds against Edge and Christian, and Jeff tried to get back into the cage many times, but Edge and Christian were able to stop him from doing so. Jeff eventually got back into the cage by jumping off the top of the cage onto his brother Matt and Edge with a corkscrew moonsault, which was a very impressive move that Jeff calls the Whisper in the Wind. The Hardy Boyz and Edge got on top of the cage as Christian was knocked to the outside of the ring, and the Hardys got chairs and they nailed Edge with the "conchairto" that Edge and Christian have made famous. Edge fell back into the ring and then the Hardy Boyz got out of the cage, getting the win and winning the Tag Team Titles for the second time!

That night, then WWF Commissioner, Mick Foley told Edge and Christian that if they didn't win the Tag Team Titles, it would be their last shot at the titles as long as the Hardy Boyz are the Tag Team Champions. Leading into the next pay per view, Edge and Christian did all they could to cost the Hardy Boyz the Tag Team Titles, so they could once again get a shot at the belts, but they were unable to get the straps off of the Hardys. Until WWF No Mercy, that is. No Mercy came along, and a tag team from the 80s returned to the tag team scene in the WWF, and it was the Conquistadors. The Conquistadors earned a shot at the tag team belts, and many believed that they were Edge and Christian under the masks as they acted like the former Champs. The two wrestled as "One" and "Two" when they were under the masks, and one of them gave Matt Hardy the "Unprettier" and then he pinned him for a three count to get the win. The Conquistadors became the WWF Tag Team Champions in the year 2000!

The very next night on RAW is WAR, we found out that it was indeed Edge and Christian under the masks as they were ready to go to the ring against two unknown guys dressed as the Conquistadors to win the belts. The Hardys found out, and took Christian out of action before the match and the Hardys got their hands on the Conquistador suits and they came to the ring against Edge as Edge thought that he was going to go in there and win the Tag Team Titles. The Conquistadors did a number on Edge and during that match, they gave him the Poetry in Motion, and then one of them gave Edge the Twist of Fate, followed by the Swanton bomb by the other. Edge was pinned for a three count and the Conquistadors were awarded the win. Mick Foley then came out and showed the footage of Edge and Christian talking to the Unknown men that they had under the masks as the Conquistadors. At that point, Mick said that he would allow the night before's title change to count, but then that night's title change would count as well and the Hardy Boyz were awarded the Tag Team Titles for the third time.

The Hardy Boyz went to the Survivor Series pay per view event in a traditional Survivor Series match along with the Dudley Boyz against the Right to Censor and Edge and Christian. Of course, the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Titles were not on the line in that contest as it was a four on four elimination contest. Prior to the pay per view, the Hardy Boyz dropped the tag team titles to the Right to Censor. The match went on and it was a hard fought contest by both teams, and unfortunately for Matt Hardy, he was eliminated from the contest as he was pinned by Edge after the "Edge-o-matic." In the end, it was Jeff Hardy against Christian and the Goodfather, and Jeff was able to eliminate Christian, using his high flying ability with the Swanton bomb. From there, Jeff took down the Goodfather and he pinned him for a three count to get the win! That wasn't the end of the fight there as the teams got back in and out of the ring and went at it. Matt Hardy gave Val a leg drop through a table as the Dudleys set the tables up and then Buh Buh Ray Dudley power bombed Steven Richards through another table. It was one hell of a night as the fans were really into it.

Going into the next pay per view of WWF Armageddon, the Hardy Boyz got in a feud with the reformed Radicalz, and it seemed as if Dean Malenko couldn't take his eyes off of Lita. Apparently, he wanted to go on a date with her, and the Hardys would have none of that. Lita was suckered into a date after she went against Dean Malenko on RAW is WAR prior to the PPV, and she lost the match, thus having to go on a date with Dean. The two went on a date, and when they got to the hotel room, Lita was toying with Dean Malenko and then the Hardy Boyz showed up out of no where and they attacked Dean Malenko, breaking a bottle over his head and then tossing him behind the bed. Armageddon saw the Hardys and Lita team up against Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn in an Intergender Elimination match. Jeff Hardy was able to eliminate Eddie Guerrero in the contest, only to get eliminated by Perry Saturn not too long after that. Matt got pay back for Jeff being eliminated by giving Saturn the Twist of Fate, and then a pin for a three count to eliminate him. It wound up with Dean Malenko against Matt Hardy and Lita!

Dean was able to roll up Matt from behind to pin him to eliminate him, and things didn't seem too well for Lita as she was left in there against Dean Malenko. In the end, Dean got the Texas Cloverleaf on Lita to get the win, and then he tossed her out of the ring as if to say she was a piece of garbage! As Dean Malenko continued to try to get at Lita, the Hardy Boyz did all they could to defend Lita. The Hardys went against Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn the night after Armageddon on RAW is WAR in a tag team contest, and the Hardys were on the losing end of the stick as Dean and Saturn were able to pull off the win. One night on RAW is WAR, Dean Malenko tossed a tray of Mustard at Lita, and it got all over her. She was forced to go back to the locker room and take a shower where Dean Malenko attempted to spy on her. At that point, Dean Malenko was jumped by both of the Hardy Boyz and he was taken out of action as they slammed his leg under the legs of a table with a chair. Dean Malenko was taken out of action as he had to take time off for knee surgery.

The next pay per view that came along was the Royal Rumble and both of the Hardy Boyz were entered into the 30 Man Over the Top Rope Royal Rumble contest. The winner would go to Wrestlemania for a shot at the WWF Belt, but neither of the Hardy Boyz were able to win the contest. The Hardy Boyz were even in the ring at the same time, and they eliminated their opponent and then they went at it against each other, and they even eliminated each other from the Royal Rumble contest. From there, many thought that the Hardy Boyz were going to feud against each other as a result of that, and the next night on RAW is WAR, they went against the Acolytes in a tag team contest.

The whole angle involving Eddie Guerrero, Matt Hardy and Lita was dropped when Eddie Guerrero was taken off of Television for drug related issues. Eddie was supposed to go against Matt Hardy in a King of the Ring Qualifying match, but due to the fact that he was taken off of Television, Matt's brother Jeff took his place. Matt and Jeff went at it in a one on one match to see who could get into the King of the Ring and Matt's little brother Jeff was able to defeat him to advance into the King of the Ring. Jeff was one of the favorites to win the King of the Ring, but he ran into someone by the name of Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle was last year's King of the Ring winner, and there was no way that he was going to let someone like Jeff Hardy get in his way to become the King of the Ring for the second year in a row. Matt Hardy didn't go to the King of the Ring pay per view, but his brother, Jeff Hardy, who won the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship several weeks before the PPV went to the event against X-Pac. Jeff Hardy retained against X-Pac, but the very next night on RAW is WAR, the two had a rematch and X-Pac was able to defeat Jeff for the Light Heavyweight Championship. At the King of the Ring, the Invasion of WCW onto WWF Television went into full effect as their Heavyweight Champion, Booker T came in and attacked Stone Cold Steve Austin.

ECW was later played into the mix and a number of WWF Superstars, including the Dudley Boyz, Tazz, Rhyno and many others defected to join the Alliance. Matt Hardy wasn't a part of the Invasion pay per view, but Jeff, even after losing the Light Heavyweight Title, battled back and won the Hardcore Championship from Alliance Star, Mike Awesome. With the Invasion of ECW, Rob Van Dam challenged Jeff Hardy to a match for the Hardcore Championship at Invasion. It was Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam and it was a hell of a contest. In the end, Rob Van Dam used the Five Star Frog Splash to defeat Jeff to win the WWF Hardcore Championship!
